Spend Indigenous Peoples’ Day immersing yourself in Indigenous history and culture. In the morning enjoy the warmth of the hearth in the Buckingham-Hall House while Silvermoon LaRose from the Tomaquag Museum cooks and teaches about Indigenous seafood and harvest recipes. In the afternoon learn about Indigenous maritime history from Dr. Jason Mancini.
- 11:00 am – 12:30 pm: Cooking Demonstration with Silvermoon LaRose (Narragansett/Niantic)
- 2:00 -3:30 pm: “Narragansett Chief; or, The Adventures of a Wanderer”: Recovering Native American Histories, 1760-183, a presentation and discussion with Dr. Jason Mancini and Silvermoon LaRose Masin Room
