Things To Do on Mother's Day 2023 in Connecticut
1. Take mom outside for some sunshine.
Does your mom like to spend time outside? Maybe she would like to snuggle with some little goats (spaces are filling up fast!), go birdwatching or climb in the trees (May 13th only).
2. Indulge in some sweets
Take part in a cake decorating class or visit Fascia's Chocolates for an hour-long workshop all about chocolates.
3. Visit a fair
There are lots and lots of fairs going on to stroll through and shop in. There are Springtime fairs, pop-up markets and craft fairs all happening just in time for Mother's Day.
4. Go to a museum.
Take in the unique exhibits at the Barker, Character, Comic & Cartoon Museum (Moms get in FREE!), Under the Canopy at the CT Science Center or the UCONN Arboretum (reservations required).

5. Take Mom to a tea party
Little finger sanwiches, music, flowers, table-cloths....and inflatables? Yes. Attend the Mother's Day Tea at Romp n Roll! Maybe you'd prefer something a little more dainty such as the Mother's Day Tea and Garden Party instead.
6. Make some candles with the whole family
Treat Mom to a one-of-a-kind scented candle or bring everyone to a family-friendly create-a-candle at a Sip n' Pour event.
7. Visit Old Wethersfield
Bring the family to Bicycles on Main in Old Wethersfield. This quaint town has antique shops, coffee shops, and of course, stop at the Heirloom Market at Comstock-Ferre for some amazing seeds for the garden.

8. Enjoy the blooms of springtime
Wade through a sea of beautiful flowers at Colorblends Home and Garden. Tulips, crocus, snowdrops, and other types of spring blossoms are all exploding in color.
9. Take Mom to a live production
Dandelion the Musical, the story of a shy, awkward lion, is being performed live on both days during Mother's Day weekend (the 13th is the Sensory Friendly performance).
10. Pack a picnic for a visit to a scenic park with a playground
Sandwiches, drinks, dessert: check. Bring a camera too, because these parks are beautiful as well as tons of fun for the kids.
11. Experience nature up close
Get your cameras ready for adorable pictures of baby animals at one of these petting zoos in Connecticut.
12. Go out to breakfast all together
Sausages, pancakes, French toast, coffee and orange juice...go out to breakfast with Mom and then go on a bicycle ride in the Hartford-area or Fairfield-area.

13. Keep it fun and FREE
Mother's Day weekend has a few free events to take advantage such as New Britain Museum of American Art free Saturday morning and the Mother's Day festvities at Terrain.
14. Take a special day trip as a family
Take your whole family on a short drive to a new place like Newport, Rhode Island, the Berkshires or Mystic.
15. Get crafty with Mom
Connecticut Art Schoool is offering a Mommy and Me painting class for Mother's Day. Come and paint with your mom and create a forever memory.
