Feeling bored over Christmas Break? Here's a list of things to do in Houston over Holiday Break.

With the kids out of school, it’s the perfect time to explore the city. But with kids out of school, it’s also hard to find the time to plan anything! But we've got you covered by curating a list of the top things to do over the Holiday Break so you can spend more time with your family, and less time figuring out what to do.

1. View Holiday lights

From the classic holiday experience at Houston Zoo Lights to neighborhood drives like River Oaks and other neighborhoods, there are plenty of amazing lights to check out. 

2. Volunteer

Spend some time giving back to the community with holiday volunteering opportunities

3. Go Ice Skating

Spend the afternoon ice skating at one of Houston's indoor or outdoor ice skating rinks.

4. Visit an indoor play space 

Get some energy out at one of our favorite indoor play spaces.

5. Be a tourist in your own town

Take the kids and out-of-town guests to some of Houston's most iconic places

6. Head out on a day trip

Get out of Houston for the day with an easy day trip to a neighboring town, like heading to the beaches in Galveston or Brazos Bend State Park to marvel at the gators.

9. Explore on a kid-friendly hike

Hit the trails for a kid-friendly hike to enjoy the outdoors as a family.
