Is that a chill in the air? The bright, sunny days of summer will slowly be giving way to shorter, cooler days as we near fall. This can be a beautiful time of year to explore the outdoors and spend some quality family time together. So pull on those sweaters and check out all that Jersey has to offer this weekend like the much loved Apple Day at Terhune Orchards, a cozy Fall Crafters’ Market at Allaire Village or the Hispanic Heritage Month celebration with live music at Boyd Park. Apple Day (Princeton, NJ)
It really starts to feel like fall when you can pick your own sweet apples to take home! It's the 36th Annual Apple Day at Terhune Orchards, which is actually two days of fun, activities, and music like wagon rides, pony rides, face painting, pumpkin painting, make your own scarecrow and more. Plus Pick-Your-Own, of course.
Atlantic City Seafood Festival (Atlantic City, NJ)
The 3rd annual AC Seafood Festival is this weekend if you’re looking to get one last fill of summer fun. Head to Bader Field and treat your taste buds to samples from hundreds of local restaurants, local NJ wine and beer and take in fun cooking demos too. The whole family can eat, browse crafts, watch the chowder cook-off and listen to live music.
NJ Wild Outdoor Expo (Jackson Township, NJ)
The New Jersey Wild Outdoor Expo celebrates our state's bountiful natural resources and rich outdoor heritage. Bring the kiddos as they’ll be plenty of hands-on opportunities to learn outdoor skills and activities. Families can learn about (and even try!) outdoor activities such as hiking, kayaking, rock climbing and wildlife watching. Grab lunch from one of the food vendors or pack your picnic!

Browse beautiful, handmade artistry of all kinds at Allaire Village's Fall Craft Market & Art in the Park event. Local artists also display their artwork and give family-friendly demos showcasing their techniques. Kids can enter the "My Allaire Village" Art Contest and have their work displayed at the event – prizes for all!
Black Bears (Ringwood, NJ)
NJ Botanical Gardens nature educator Russell Brust introduces you to the black bears which live in the forests and backyards of New Jersey in a presentation at the picturesque Carriage House. You'll learn about the bears' lifestyle, how you can help protect them and what to do if you meet one. Great for families who love to camp!

1920s Country Fair & Harvest Festival (Morristown, NJ)
Check out this festival at Fosterfields Farm for tons of fun this Sunday! Visit with farm animals, take a wagon ride or grab some tasty food from local NJ food trucks. Then step back in time and tour the historical farm house, learn to do the Charleston or roll your sleeves up as you help brush dairy cows and inspect chickens! The Long Hill string band will keep everyone’s toes tapping all afternoon.
Hispanic Heritage Month Celebration (New Brunswick, NJ)
Enjoy the rich Hispanic culture of New Brunswick at Boyd Park with outdoor performances along the riverfront. Take in traditional dances and live music that showcase the wonderful artistic traditions of different Latin-American countries. Pack a picnic blanket and lunch and make an afternoon of it!
