Easter Weekend for NJ Kids: Egg Hunts, Bunny Chase & Spring Nature Walk April 4-5
Hello, April! Even if you are a little rainy, we happily welcome the springtime weather and return of outdoor fun. If you’re looking to get the gang out of the house to celebrate Easter, NJ has lots of holiday happenings this weekend. Check out the Bunny Chase at Terhune Orchards, go for a traditional Easter egg hunt at historic Allaire Village or greet the holiday rabbit when he lands in an airplane at Solberg Airport's Easter Bunny Flies event. Bunny Chase (Princeton, NJ)
All are invited to Terhune Orchards for a FREE, fun event this spring. Kids can follow the treasure hunt clues and find a spring surprise at the end of the hunt. You can also hop aboard a wagon or pony for a ride around the farm!
Saturday, April 4th
Surprise Story Time (Middletown, NJ)
Kids can enjoy a reading from a nature or garden-themed book at Deep Cut Gardens during their monthly Surprise Story Time. Readings take place outside in the garden or inside in the Horticultural Center – a clue at the entrance will lead you to the secret spot!
Easter Egg Hunt (Farmingdale, NJ)
Bring the whole gang to Allaire Village for an Easter Egg Hunt. A handmade Easter Bonnet Parade with prizes will be held at 3pm and the historic buildings will officially be open for the season.
Easter Bunny Flies (Whitehouse Station, NJ)
Coming in for a landing! Kids are invited to meet and take photos with the Easter Bunny at Solberg Airport this Saturday. After the Big Bunny arrives, watch hot air balloons launch, check out aircraft displays or get your face painted.
Family Workshop: A Perfect Pot of Tea (Hamilton, NJ)
Drop by the beautiful Grounds for Sculpture any time from 1-3pm this Saturday to design a special teakettle favor box. Kids can embellish their designs with bells and whistles, and then pop in their favorite tea bags and enjoy an afternoon tea party.
Pinocchio (Cherry Hill, NJ)
Garden State Discovery Museum presents the classic story of a wooden puppet who wants to be a real boy and the lonely old puppeteer who would love to have his own child. Kids will love going on this adventure with Pinocchio, Geppetto and all the characters they encounter in the colliding worlds of the puppet stage and the streets of Italy.
Sunday, April 5th
Easter Sunday Celebration (Camden, NJ)
Spend your Easter Sunday afternoon enjoying Camden Children’s Garden and visit the Easter Bunny in their Tree House too! All children visiting will receive a free ride on the Garden Carousel.
Easter Bunny Breakfast (Florham Park, NJ)
Head to Imagine That! for a special Breakfast with the Easter Bunny. Bagels, juice and coffee will be served and all children will receive a special Easter basket. The Easter morning event will include an Easter parade and an egg hunt – don’t forget your cameras!
Guided Nature Walk (Tenafly, NJ)
Families are invited for a guided spring time walk along one of Tenafly Nature Center’s trails with an Environmental Educator. Whether a first time visitor or a regular on the trails, participants will enjoy different sensory experiences in the forest each month.
