Looking for the best restaurants open on Long Island on Thanksgiving? Read on for our top 10 picks. 

Thanksgiving is a time for celebrating with loved ones while savoring hearty fare. While that might involve sliding an extra leaf into the dining room table, it could also mean a quick jaunt to a Long Island restaurant, where basting and pot-scrubbing are taken care of, and your only concern is a lively conversation.

For those who aren’t fans of turkey, many restaurants below offer regular menu items on Thanksgiving Day. Just be sure to call ahead to reserve a spot. Restaurants Open on Thanksgiving in Nassau County 

1. The Capital Grille – Garden City

This swanky steakhouse is serving Thanksgiving dinner along with its regular menu. Adults are $47, and menus include slow-roasted turkey, green beans, cranberry chutney, and mashed potatoes. Kids receive smaller portions for $17. Proper dress is required; athleisure is not permitted. 

2. Seasons 52 –​ Garden City

Located in the center of Garden City’s shopping mecca, this homegrown favorite is open from 10am-9pm on Thanksgiving Day, serving turkey dinners for children and adults. In addition, adults can enjoy seasonal classics like flatbreads and wood-grilled vegetables with their entrees. Children can dine on grilled chicken fingers, hamburgers, pasta, or children’s cheese flatbreads. Reservations are recommended.

3. Crabtree's – Floral Park

This neighborhood bistro offers a prix fixe menu for adults that includes an appetizer or dessert and an entree. Kids' meals, such as pasta or chicken fingers, also include dessert. Be sure to call ahead to reserve a table. This year's official menu will be posted on its website two weeks before Thanksgiving Day.

4. Davenport Press –​ Mineola

Enjoy the cozy cottage atmosphere on Mineola’s Main Street this Thanksgiving Day. Make your reservations early to ensure a table. Children can choose from the same options as adults, getting a smaller portion at a lower price. They can also enjoy traditional kids' fare such as chicken fingers or pasta. Each meal includes an appetizer, such as cream of turkey soup, rigatoni alla vodka, or stuffed mushrooms; an entree, like roast turkey with chestnut stuffing, roast Long Island duckling, salmon, or chicken parmesan; and a dessert, such as cheesecake, apple crisp, or ice cream. Adults are $54.95, and children younger than 10 are $34.95.

5. Galleria – Westbury

A Thanksgiving special is offered alongside the regular Italian trattoria-style menu at this local favorite. Dishes such as linguine, risotto, and sauteed chicken can be created in smaller, less expensive plates for little eaters that include chicken cutlets and pasta. Located near Westbury's Gallery and the Roosevelt Field mall, this eatery is also a great place for hungry Black Friday bargain-hunters.

6. Milleridge Inn –​ Jericho

Light the first sparks of the holiday season by dining at the North Shore's elegant Milleridge Inn, which features a charming mini-shopping village and tasteful, glowing decor. You can get a table if you make a reservation in advance for Thanksgiving, but you will need to pay when you call. An adult prix fixe menu offers an appetizer, a main course such as turkey or prime rib, and dessert with coffee for $62.95. A children’s all-inclusive dinner for ages 2-12 provides options such as chicken fingers, mac and cheese, or a mini-turkey with a drink and dessert for $32.95. There is also a grand buffet menu featuring carving stations, various sides, and desserts. Buffet prices are $65.95 for adults and $35.95 for children 2-12. Children younger than 2 are FREE for both the buffet and prix fixe. 

7. Eric's Italian Bistro – Mineola

Bring your family to this modern bistro in Mineola run by the Echeverria family. Eric's offers a three-course menu for $54.95 featuring turkey, sides, and a trio of desserts. Reservations are recommended.

8. Harbor Mist – Cold Spring Harbor

This cozy eatery boasts sparkling views of Long Island Sound. A three-course meal for adults is $65, and a children’s menu including an appetizer and dessert is $32. Cold Spring Harbor’s waterfront parks are across the street for after-dinner play. Reservations are required.

9. Jonathan's – Huntington

In the heart of Huntington's bustling village, Jonathan's offers its regular dinner menu on Thanksgiving Day, as well as a menu of Thanksgiving-inspired specials such as roast turkey, mushroom ravioli, and pumpkin pie. There is also a children's menu including appetizers, burgers, and pasta with sauces. Reservations are required.

10. East Wind – Wading River

Enjoy a hassle-free holiday with dinner at this East End eatery. East Wind is open from 12pm-5pm and offers a full Thanksgiving buffet for $64.95 per adult and $34.95 per child. Dishes include turkey, ham, salmon, soups, bread, and a variety of salads. There is a full kids' menu, too. Families with little ones are asked to bring high chairs.
