21st Annual St. Nicholas Day Celebration

Families are invited to NYC's oldest house for an outdoor celebration packed with craft activities, a tree lighting, and a special visit from St. Nick.
St. Nicholas arrives on horseback around 2:45pm. Kids can sip hot cider, try some colonial games, create a holiday pomander, decorate a Dutch clog for Sinterklaas, and dress the tree for the tree lighting that closes the day as the sun goes down.
Schedule:
2pm | Grounds open with crafts and activities
2:30 | Learn the traditional Sinterklaas Song
2:45pm | St. Nicholas arrives on horseback, socially distanced meet the horses
3pm | Story time with St. Nicholas: The Bakers Dozen
3:15-4pm | Sign the Red Book and take photos in the Holiday Photo Booth**
4pm | Tree decorating and lighting
What to expect on your visit:
- The house museum is currently closed to the public, do dress warmly as all activities take place outdoors in the park.
- Pre-registration is strongly encouraged. Walk-ups will be admitted on a first-come-first-served basis, capacity permitting.
- Mask wearing and social distancing is encouraged while visiting the grounds. Hand sanitizer is available throughout the park and event.
- Use the restroom before your arrival. There is one port-o-san on the property.
**To respect social distancing guidelines, photos with St. Nicholas are not available this year. Families are encouraged to take photos in the Holiday-themed Photo Booth as an alternative.
