FIAF hosts a day filled with fun activities, including a Drag Queen Story Hour, an arts and crafts session, a musical workshop, and a film screening. Each activity aims to inspire its participants to look at the beauty, variety, and ecological importance of forests.

Drag Queen Story Hour
11:30am FIAF Haskell Library, 2nd Floor, 22 East 60th Street
Ages 5 & up • 45 min In English
Dress up in your favorite outfits and costumes for a 45-minute program hosted by Drag Queen Story Hour NYC. Children hear a selection of French and American favorites read in English. Following the storytime, kids, with the help of their adults, can ask the reader their most burning questions.

Eva Jospin's Build Your Own Forest Workshop
1:30pm & 3:30pm FIAF Tinker Auditorium, 55 East 59th Street

Step into a magical forest, all carefully constructed from raw cardboard! November’s FIAF Gallery artist, Eva Jospin, a former student at the Ecole des Beaux-Arts in Paris and former resident of the Villa Medici in Rome, is inspired by nature and architecture, and is known for her skillfully crafted cardboard works. In this workshop, each participant creates their own cardboard tree to add to a forest. Workshops are guided by teaching artist Amélie Gaulier. Jospin’s exhibition is on view in the FIAF Gallery from November 10–December 21.

Percussion Party with Jihene Serkhane
10am–5pm FIAF Skyroom, 22 East 60th Street,

Musical artist Jihene Serkhane awaits in the FIAF Skyroom for a percussion lesson on the darbuka. Dr. Serkhane guides participants as they learn to play the traditional North African drum. Families can stop by throughout the day, from 10am to 5pm, for this unforgettable experience. Discover the beautiful sound and fascinating tradition of this unique instrument!
