MoMath presents the seventh annual NYC Math Festival, providing a full day of math fun in the sun for all ages. Enjoy hands-on math exhibits, entertaining mathematical games, and intriguing puzzles and brainteasers.
Plus, take home a little bit of MoMath; an outpost of Additions, the shop at MoMath, is on-site for all your summer gift needs.
The lineup of featured exhibits and activities at this year's festival include:
- Entertainment from mathematical mimes Tim and Tanya Chartier, who demonstrate concepts through mime, including estimation, tiling, and infinity
- A demonstration by juggler and educator John Chase on how mathematics helps jugglers estimate the path of an object through space and time
- MoMath’s iconic 120-foot-long number line
- Mathematical games for children, such as speed sorting and Multiplication City, presented by New York University’s Lab for the Developing Mind
- Activities from the Julia Robinson Math Festival that teach problem solving and critical thinking through play
- A ball-playing session presented by the award-winning robotics team of Stuyvesant High School, featuring Excelsior, a competitive ball-throwing robot
- Opportunities to create your own captivating mathematical sculptures
- Interactive exhibits from MoMath’s carnival-themed Math Midway
