Owned by the same people behind the Camelback Resort in the Poconos, the Kartrite will be home to a two-acre indoor water park and will be open year-round. We're told it will have a family-friendly vibe and, along with the must-have pools and water slides, will be designed in a style similar to European indoor water parks, with a roof that lets in tons of natural sunlight, tropical plants and—so that you can relax even when you’re out with the kids—lux cabanas in the mezzanine area.

While it might not be far from home, those looking to make a weekend of it can stay in one of the hotel’s 324 rooms, which are outfitted in fun, bright décor. When your kids get tired of the water, you can hang out at the ropes course or arcade, or eat at a few different restaurants. There will also be a spa on-site.

As part of the Resorts World Catskills, the Kartrite will be a true global destination. 

The resort will sit on the new Resorts World Catskills property, which includes a 100,00-square-foot casino and a golf course. The park is being built by Aquatic Development Group, which has also produced water parks like Six Flags Hurricane Harbor in New Jersey and Aquatopia at Camelback.  

Wondering where the name comes from? If you’ve visited Camelback before, you might be familiar with Sir Kartrite Van Der Berris, a fictional explorer-type who does an array of very cool-sounding jobs. According to the resort, he’s “an explorer, adventurer, inventor, aviator, submariner, tinkerer, thrill seeker, and teacher of worldly things.”
