Restaurants Open on Christmas in DC

1. Brasserie Liberte

Brasserie Liberte, a modern French restaurant with an American twist in Georgetown, is serving a three-course prix fixe menu on Christmas Eve for $69.95 per person, which includes both fancier fare like filet mignon and coq au vin and more kid-friendly options such as steak frites and fettuccine bolognese. On Christmas Day, the restaurant serves its regular brunch menu from 10am-2pm and its regular dinner menu from 2:15-10pm, both of which have items children will enjoy.

2. Farmers Fishers Bakers

This Georgetown restaurant is offering its popular all-you-can-eat buffet from 9am-8pm on Christmas Day for $43.99 per person. The buffet includes all of its regular items—think fried chicken, French toast, and seafood jambalya—as well as some special holiday additions. Farmers Fishers Bakers is also open 9am-11pm on Christmas Eve with its regular breakfast, lunch, and dinner menus. 

3. Farmers & Distillers

Like its sibling restaurant Farmers Fishers Bakers, this downtown eatery is serving an all-day Christmas buffet for $43.99 per person, as well as its regular menus on Christmas Eve. Both restaurants also offer a heat-and-eat Christmas at Home menu that includes a complete dinner for four, plus various a la carte options. The Christmas at Home meals must be ordered by noon on December 20, 2022 for pickup on Christmas Eve.

A Georgia Brown's pork chop with candied yams and Brussels sprouts would make a fine Christmas dinner. 

4. Georgia Brown’s

This iconic restaurant in downtown DC is open on both Christmas Day and Christmas Eve with its regular menu. Families can enjoy Southern Low Country fare including fried chicken, steak, gumbo, mac and cheese, and more. Georgia Brown's also has online ordering available for families to enjoy a delicious Christmas dinner at home.

5. Blue Duck Tavern

This Michelin-recognized restaurant in Georgetown's Park Hyatt is an upscale option for Christmas dinner. It offers an a la carte, pre-paid meal for $125 per person and $55 for children under 12 years old. Each person gets their choice of appetizer and main course with sides to share, capped off by an elegant dessert presentation. Blue Duck Tavern is also open on Christmas Eve.

6. Teddy & The Bully Bar

This Dupont Circle restaurant is offering a Christmas feast from 12-8pm for $72 per person and $32 for kids 12 and under. Start by choosing one of five appetizers. Then, enjoy an endless carving station that includes turkey, glazed ham, lamb chops, and salmon, as well as all-you-can-eat sides including mac and cheese, whipped potatoes, veggies, and more. End the meal with your choice of apple crostata, pumpkin cheesecake, cherry cobbler, or a sundae bar for dessert. Teddy & The Bully Bar is also offering the Christmas feast on Christmas Eve.

Restaurants Open on Christmas in Maryland

7. Fogo de Chão — Bethesda

With locations in Tysons, Virginia and DC in addition to Bethesda, Brazilian steakhouse Fogo de Chão is open on both Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. It serves its regular dinner menu on both days, and also offers holiday catering and to-go holiday meals for delivery or pickup. To-go choices include a choice of fire-roasted meats, a wide variety of festive sides, cocoa fudge brownies, and the option to add wine.

8. MoCo's Founding Farmers — Potomac

Head to Founding Farmers MoCo (or its DC location) between 9am and noon on Christmas morning to enjoy its a la carte breakfast menu, or from 11am-8pm for its a la carte lunch and dinner menu. The restaurant is also open on Christmas Eve with its regular menus. You can also order a complete dinner for four and/or a la carte items from Founding Farmers' Christmas at Home menu. Be sure to order by noon on December 20, 2022 for pickup on Christmas Eve.

9. Hollywood East Cafe — Wheaton

Eating Chinese food on Christmas Day is a tradition for many families, and you can't go wrong with Hollywood East Cafe inside the Westfield Wheaton mall. The restaurant serves up a massive menu of dim sum—served all day, every day—and favorite entrees like General Tso's chicken, moo shu pork, lo mein, and pretty much anything else you can think of. It's open on both Christmas Eve and Christmas Day from 11am-8pm.

Restaurants Open on Christmas in Northern Virginia

10. Essy’s Carriage House — Arlington

In business for over 45 years, Essy’s Carriage House is open on both Christmas Day and Christmas Eve. It offers a special Christmas menu with choices such as prime rib, filet mignon, Alaskan salmon, lamb chops, and its signature lump crab cake, plus a variety of desserts and appetizers. Reservations are available between 5pm and 10pm on Christmas Eve and from noon to 9pm on Christmas Day.

11. Founding Farmers — Tysons and Reston

Both the Tysons and Reston locations of Founding Farmers are serving up all-day buffets on Christmas Day for $43.99 per person. The buffet includes all of the usual favorites plus some special holiday items. You can also visit on Christmas Eve to enjoy the restaurant's regular a la carte breakfast, lunch, or dinner menus. If you'd rather be at home, order from the Christmas at Home menu (the same one offered at Farmers Fishers Bakers, Farmers & Distillers, and the DC and MoCo Founding Farmers locations) by noon on December 20, 2022 for pickup on Christmas Eve.

12. Lena's Wood-Fired Pizza & Tap — Alexandria

This popular pizza and Italian restaurant near Old Town and Del Ray is open on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day with both its regular menu and some special Christmas items, including prime rib, pork loin, and baked alfredo mac and cheese. The hours are 10am-3pm (brunch) and 3pm to midnight (dinner) on Christmas Eve and 11am-6pm on Christmas Day. Families can also order a Christmas meal package to-go for pickup between 2pm and 6pm on Christmas Eve and 11am and 3pm on Christmas Day. Be sure to order by December 21.
