Garden Grove marks Memorial Day weekend for the 63rd year with its Strawberry Festival, the second largest city festival in the West. This year, the festival's theme is "Celebrating Kindness."
The Grand Marshall of this year's parade is Tony Adkins, also known as the "Dancing Doctor."
The festival's parade steps off on Saturday (10am), with with floats, bands, and equestrians.
Other events at the Strawberry Festival include loads of carnival rides, a Tiny Tots King & Queen Contest, live music, a baby beauty pageant, a red-head round-up, and Friday's cutting of the world's largest strawberry shortcake (6pm) which is served free to more than 2,000 attendees.
Ride-all-day wristbands cost $35 on Friday and $40 the rest of the weekend. Tickets for individual rides can also be purchased separately at $1 per ticket.
The festival is held at the Village Green between Main Street and Euclid Avenue in downtown Garden Grove.
