Once the holidays are over, we kind of need to call it winter. The sun may still shine, and the rain may or may not fall, but what else to call months like January and February? The beauty of SoCal life is that winter still includes hikes and bike rides and even the odd beach trip; but when that inevitable week happens - the week when kids need to find stuff to do indoors - we must not be unprepared. The best Angeleno weekends allow us to go straight from the ski slopes to a beach shack dinner, but we can commiserate with our eastern cousins and gather in groups indoors when called upon. We do winter. Really, we do.
