Los Angeles Times Festival of Books
- see all dates
Books, books, everywhere, and lots of authors, too. The LA Times Festival of Books is LA's biggest and best-known book festival. The schedule for 2023's Festival of Books features children's events with David Shannon, Kwame Alexander, Leslie Odom Jr., Ahmet Zappa & Dan Santat, Katherine Schwarzenegger Pratt, Idina Menzel, Lucky Diaz, Stacey Abrams, and more.
Held once again on the USC Campus, the festival is two days filled with over 250 authors at panel discussions, author readings, performances, and booths. The Children's Stage features performances throughout both days geared for kids. Older kids can check out the author appearances at the YA Stage. All outdoor entertainment is free and requires no ticket.
Tickets are required to attend all indoor Conversations. They are free but limited and are distributed starting April 16 (service fee per ticket applies).
Attendees can get earlier access to tickets with the purchase a "friend of the festival" pass. A limited amount of tickets for each Conversation, while supplies last, are also distributed at the festival ticketing booth — free of service charges. The booth opens at 10am on each day of the festival.
Parking on campus is $20. Public transportation options include Metro bus and rail lines.
