The city of Manhattan Beach holds its annual Pumpkin Race on the pier. Families are encouraged to attend in costume and create their own crazy pumpkin race cars at the pier's colorful Pumpkinrace Land.

Racing pumpkins can be purchased at the event while supplies last.

Prizes are given in various different categories—though watching and cheering is just as much fun as winning.

Also note: from 11am to 5pm (while supplies last) merchants in downtown Manhattan Beach displaying this year's poster in their window are giving out treats to trick-or-treaters in costume.
