42nd Lotus Festival
- see all dates
Every year the Lotus Festival highlights a different Asian or Pacific Island country to promote and educate the community about the country and its culture. This year, the event celebrates the people of Indonesia. Families enjoy the dragonboat races, children's area, food court, handcrafted artwork, and more.
The Lotus flower is significant to the Asian cultures as a symbol of rebirth, purity and life. The event is held in July when the Lotus plant blooms.
Admission is free, but food and drinks are not included.
This year's event adds a Lights of Dreams Lantern section, honoring the Indonesian tradition of sending off decorated lanterns into the water with drawings and words expressing hopes and dreams. There is a fee to decorate and launch a lantern.
