Anaheim Hills pulls out all the stops for the 4th of July, with a full day of activities. The morning starts with the Firecracker 5k/10k run at 7am. At 7:30am, fuel up with a pancake breakfast. Next is the dog show, the parade, live entertainment and finally, a fireworks show lights up the sky at 9pm. 

Another fireworks option in Anaheim is to find a spot close to either Angels Stadium or Disneyland to view the (much more expensive) displays. Angels Stadium fires them up after the game, and Disneyland does its usual thing, only bigger.

Here is the full schedule of events and locations for the day: 

7am - Firecracker 5k/10k - Starting line at Santa Ana Canyon Road
7:30am - Pancake breakfast ($10) - Canyon High School field 
9am - Yankee Doodle Dog Show - Canyon High Softball field (register your pup here) 
1pm - Patriotic parade - The parade begins at Canyon High School and follows Imperial Hwy to Santa Ana Canyon Rd. Here is the full parade route.  
3pm- Food vendors open and live entertainment starts - Peralta Park 
9pm- Fireworks spectacular - viewable at Peralta Park
