Burbank Rose Parade Float Decorating
- see all dates
The Burbank Tournament of Roses Association invites families to help decorate the city's float for the Tournament of Roses Parade. This is a great opportunity to be part of the big parade, and a way for kids to get volunteer service hours for school requirements.
Kids as young as seven years old are welcome to pitch in. Anyone younger than 14 must be accompanied by a parent. Everyone volunteering must have a signed release form (under the age of 18 must be signed by a parent). (Forms available on the website). Volunteers should wear clothes they don't mind getting dirty or ruined—and no open-toed shoes.
More details are available on the Association website.
Volunteers gather Saturdays from 10am until at least 1pm; work days become more frequent closer to the holidays. Make sure to check the website before showing up, as volunteer dates may vary.
The float is built and decorated at the Burbank Water and Power yard at 123 W. Olive Ave, near the intersection of Olive and Flower, under the Olive Ave. bridge, across from Borrmann Steel Co. The building is marked “BWP Auxiliary Warehouse."
Free parking is available at the Metrolink parking lot (5 W. Olive Ave., Burbank), under the Olive Ave. overpass at the corner of Olive and Flower Street.
