Put your "gone fishin'" sign on the front door, it's time to cast your reel at Don Knabe Community Regional Park! Kids ages 5-15 get free fishing lessons and angler safety tips from the California Department of Fish and Wildlife. The morning begins with a delicious pancake breakfast, then it's time to grab the tackle box and head to the water. 

Pre-registration is encouraged. Registration for the derby closes at midnight on June 2, 2022.

Participants get to take home a free T-shirt while supplies last.

Children must bring their own fishing rod. There will be some loaners available, but supplies are limited.

Prizes will be given to various winners throughout the derby. 

Adults are not permitted to fish. Violators will be cited.
