Grand Ave Arts: All Access
Grand Avenue Arts: All Access showcases major cultural institutions in DTLA. The free one-day event features performances, exhibitions, behind-the-scenes tours, and interactive family-friendly activities.
In addition, new for 2022, the Downtown Center Business Improvement District introduces Grand Ave Augmented, a series of AR experiences along Grand Avenue that complement the live programming at participating organizations.
The event takes place at venues along Grand Ave. between Temple and Sixth. Participating institutions include The Broad Museum, Center Theatre Group, Colburn School, Downtown Center Business Improvement District, Halo/Brookfield Properties, Grand Park, LA Opera, Los Angeles Public Library, Los Angeles Philharmonic, LA Master Chorale, MOCA, The Music Center and REDCAT.
The events are too numerous to list here, but a few highlights include:
- An instrument petting zoo at Colburn Music Academy
- An interactive workshop with concepts of color, mood and perspective at MOCA
- A sugar skull workshop at the LA Central Library at Grand Park
- West African dance / percussion workshops at the Broad
- “Hugman,” a series of brightly colored LEGO® brick sculptures created by Nathan Sawaya, at Halo at Wells Fargo Center
- Dia de los Muertos altars at Grand Park
- Arts & crafts and recitals at LA Opera
- A participatory procession, poetry and artmaking workshops and drum circle at the Music Center
