Westlake Village Discovers: The Great Outdoors

This free all-ages program aims to encourage continued learning and reading through interactive and educational programs. This year all programs are centered around the theme of getting outside and learning about the place we call home, with highlights such as live animals, a lesson on beekeeping, and tips about wildlife safety.
Activities:
Backyard Wildlife Safety with Teranga Ranch
Attendees can learn about the history and behaviors of local wildlife, what attracts them and what deters them from your home. Topics include pet safety, humane hazing techniques, and ways to co-exist with native wildlife.
Valley Hive Honey & Beekeeping Presentation
The Valley Hive shows why bees are so important, with a presentation about the history of beekeeping, bee biology, why bees sting, how they make honey, and the importance of pollination.
Saving Wildlife International Animal Show
Saving Wildlife International introduces their animal ambassadors, including mammals, birds, reptiles, and amphibians, in a presentation about wildlife conservation.
In addition, the WLV Library Book Store hosts a pop-up shop with adventure books curated for all ages. There is a family story time and craft at the conclusion of the event.
