Looking for the best things to do in Philly this MLK Jr. weekend? Here are some family-friendly events and activities to add to your schedule.

There are a lot of exciting activities for families to enjoy during this long weekend and many ways to honor Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.'s legacy. The African American Museum in Philadelphia partners with the Philadelphia Ballet to host Day of Dance, featuring performances and classes for children highlighting ballet and African dance. Head to the Please Touch Museum, Constitution Center, or the Museum of the American Revolution for more events celebrating Dr. King, where kids can learn about his powerful impact and give back through service projects. Also this weekend, train enthusiastis can enjoy Greenberg's Train & Toy Show while lizard lovers can explore the Reptile Super Expo, both at the Expo Center.

From New Year's Day to Lunar New Year, January can be a great time for indoor and outdoor activities. Don't miss our favorite kid-friendly events and activities in Philly this January. 

We've got you covered for the first month of 2023, kicking it off with the Mummers Parade on New Year's Day. This month, train enthusiasts can check out hundreds of locomotives at Greenberg's Train & Toy Show. Over in Peddler's Village, admire amazing ice displays or warm up by the firepit at Fire and Ice Fun. Welcome the Year of the Rabbit with Lunar New Year celebrations at Main Line Art Center and the Penn Museum. Also on deck this month are Franklin Square's Ice Princess Weekend and the opening of Emotions at Play at the Please Touch Museum based on Pixar's Inside Out.

Skate into the New Year with a bang! Bid farewell to 2022 and join the fun at Blue Cross RiverRink's Parties on Ice, complete with views of the fireworks presented by Rivers Casino. Enjoy early countdown celebrations, plus more fireworks displays at Peepsfest or Sesame Place. Philadelphia is not just a city of delicious cuisine and crushing culture; it's also home to some truly spectacular holiday light displays!
