Veterans Day Weekend in Atlanta: Parades, Candler Park Fall Fest, and More Things to Do With Kids

Looking for the best things to do in Atlanta this Veterans Day weekend? Here are some family-friendly events and activities to add to your weekend list!
It's Veterans Day weekend and families have lots of opportunities to celebrate those who have served in the military with parades, cermeonies, and events all around Atlanta. The annual Veterans Day Ceremony at Atlanta History Center will be on Friday; and families the Georgia Veterans Festival at The Battery on Saturday, features a parade, military exhibits, and family-friendly activities. Also this Veterans Day weekend, fans of the hit Netflix show Gabby's Dollhouse can meet Gabby and take photos when her mobile bakery stops at several local Walmart stores, as part of the Gabby's Dollhouse Bakey with Cakey Tour.
It's beginning of feel a lot like the holidays in Atlanta, and some of our favorite seasonal events launch this weekend, including Stone Mountain Christmas, Garden Lights, Holiday Nights at Atlanta Botanical Garden, and Rudolph at the Center for Puppetry Arts. Speaking of holidays, Thanksgiving is in two weeks and if you'd prefer to let others do the cooking (and more importantly, the cleaning), check out our list of Kid-Friendly Restaurants Open on Thanksgiving Day in Atlanta.
