Sail into Greenport for the Maritime Festival this weekend. Enjoy classic wooden boats, kayak races, demonstrations of high-tech water sports, wood carving, model ship building, and more.

Or enjoy carnival rides, live music, craft vendors, children's shows including the National Circus Project, a petting zoo, pony rides, and more at Lido Beach Town Park's Festival by the Sea. There are also festivals in Seaford, Bellmore, Woodbury, Old Bethpage and Smithtown this weekend.

Elmo teams up with Abby and Justin, embarking on an amazing journey to be a part of a visiting magic show in Sesame Street Live! Make Your Magic show this weekend at the Nassau Coliseum.

Children have a hands-on opportunity to see, touch, and explore heavy machinery and meet the people who build, protect, and serve the community at the Hampton Bays Firehouse FREE  Touch-A-Truck event.

Cheer on dragon boat racing teams as they compete over a 250-meter course at a harborfront festival in Port Jefferson this weekend.

It's all peace and love at Kidstock in Port Washington. This open-air family festival features musical entertainment that kids and parents can enjoy together. There are more festivals at Harbes Family Farm, Garden Of Eve, Benner's Farm, Hofstra University and Hicks Nurseries.

Partake in a day of spy-related tours and activities for Culper Spy Day at the Long Island Museum.

With school again in full swing, it's time to pack all that family fun into the weekend. We've rounded up some family fall festivals as they kick off across Long Island.

Elsewhere this weekend, step back to Colonial times as Raynham Hall in Oyster Bay is filled with costumed adult and child re-enactors who bring the 18th century to life. Celebrate the autumn season with outdoor activities for children of all ages at Sands Point Preserve. These are just some of the best kid-friendly events and activities taking place across Long Island this weekend.

Chug on down to the Railroad Musuem of Long Island in Riverhead for its annual festival this weekend. Hop aboard a miniature World's Fair train for a ride around the lawn. Then head east to the Harbes Family Farm Peach Festival.  These are just some of the great events and activities for Long Island kids and families this weekend.    

Elsewhere, enjoy the Long Island Scottish Festival and Games, including a wee bit o' bagpipers, caber tossing, Highland games, and more.
