Parents can take costumed kids to the Lawrenceville BooFest on Friday for candy collecting. On Saturday families take their pick between Trick-or-Treat at Avalon in Alpharetta for a Halloween scavenger hunt or Forsyth County's Halloween at Halcyon, where kids can pet animals and meet Encanto characters while trick-or-treating.

Be sure to check out our list of Fun Halloween Trunk-or-Treat Events because many of the big ones are happening this Halloween weekend in places like Doraville, Decatur and Kennesaw. Let our Atlanta Halloween Guide be your go-to when you need ideas like 10 Easy Halloween Treats for Kids (mmm, monster mash brownies) or the scoop on the Best Neighborhoods to Trick-or-Treat in Atlanta. Fun Halloween Trunk-or-Treat Events Near Atlanta in 2022

All October long, kids look foward to trick-or-treating on Halloween. But why wait until the last day of October? Families can visit several trunk-or-treat events happening all over Atlanta, starting mid-October and lasting through Halloween night. These Atlanta Halloween events offer a controlled environment where participating families and businesses decorate car trunks with a festive Halloween theme, then allow young kids to safely trick-or-treat at each car trunk and fill up their candy bags. Get it now? TRUNK-or-treat!

While searching for the best trunk-or-treats near Atlanta, we found many are hosted by local municipalities and churches, where everyone is invited. A trunk-or-treat also gives parents more bang for their buck so they get more wears out of Halloween costumes. Speaking of bang for your buck, most of these events are free to attend!

Free Halloween Events in Atlanta with Kids for 2022

Elsa Simcik's picture Submitted by Elsa Simcik on Sun, 10/02/2022 - 3:45am

There are loads of free Halloween events in the Atlanta area to check out this month, like HarvestFest in Marietta! Photo courtesy of the City of Marietta

The only thing we love more than Halloween events are FREE Halloween events in Atlanta! After all the money we parents spend on costumes, candy, and Halloween parties, we could use some free activites for our kids like a good pumpkin fest, a Halloween-themed block party, or a park filled with inflatables. We've rounded up the best Atlanta Halloween events that are free to attend.

A lot of these free Halloween events are hosted by towns like Roswell, Duluth, and Sandy Springs. Parents can pick parties close to home or venture to a nearby suburb. In fact, there are so many festivities the last two weekends of October, families may choose to freebie hop. Now the only thing getting a lot of use will be those costumes, not your wallet!
